Is it time to update your profile image, it can be as relaxed or as formal as needed. Maybe you want one of both, or something fun, got you cover whatever way you want to go. Here are some recent shoots.
$150 give us about a half hour to work together to get you two images $300 gives us a lot more time, about one and a half hours to do a verity of images, and/or more creative images. We can go to multiple locations and change clothes (you, not me) and six final digital images are included. Additional files can be purchased. family holiday cards

The Autumn season was a whirlwind of photo shoots. Conferences, headshots, school portraits, marketing material and of course family photos for the end of year holiday card and gifts. Thank you to the families that return year after year, and the new people checking me out. We kept it very simple this year, left the concepts and props and presets and filters behind and pretty much went for simplicity. Not always easy to get family photos to look 'simple'. Bad light, cold weather, 4 kids at once are just a few things we had to work with on some of these, but we had fun and made the most of it all and got a lot of natural personality shinning through.
The new year kicked in with lots of annual report photos followed this week with my first newborn of 2016.

I spent a couple of hours at Magical Minds Studio, in the after school program, in the pre-school program and open studio. If your child hasn't checked it out please do, it is a really fun place to be for the littlies in our life. http://www.magicalmindsstudio.com/ They will have a lot of new photos on that site soon, including some of these. This is work I really love to do, just be there... and document

just a few from some families in the past couple of weeks. I've been photographing these girls since the oldest was born, so fun to watch them grow and see the different personalities.
These boys also have been coming to me for photos for a lot of years too.

October has been the busiest month of the year for me for a few years now, but this October was something else. I felt like I was running a race the whole month long, but I made it to the finish line with a lot of good work, happy clients and not one mistake or late order. I'm a little obsessed with never being late with work. I have 6163 usable images between 9/28 and 10/28, AND I coached a U8 girls soccer team. Wednesday practice, Saturday game. I photographed 3 school, a couple of university events, a couple fundraisers for non-profits, some family portraits for holidays cards, lots of business headshots and some marketing material for an art pre-school and a university. Oh and I photographed Patti Smith for The Book Table.
Full gallery of the event can be seen here http://www.emphotography.net/pattismith
Another event that had some great music was The Women's Global Education Project annual fundraiser, if you don't already know about them you should. They do wonderful work at getting children educated in Senegal and Kenya.
To see all the photos from this event visit http://www.emphotography.net/wgep2015
A little later in October I photographed the annual fundraiser also doing amazing work, closer to home, in domestic violence prevention, Sarah's Inn. Here are a few photos from their night at Wire, full gallery can be viewed here http://www.emphotography.net/p435105819

Here are some of the headshots and portraits I've done in the past months. I really do love working with natural/ambient light, so you will see a lot of it here, but if there isn't light available no problem! we just add our own.

12 weeks of summer, lots of travels and kid time with a little work in there too.
We spent five days camping is Yellowstone this August, first really big road trip with both kids. Lots of driving, lots of amazing places with really good friends from our California days. More photos to come from this... The highlight of July was a trip to the UP, and a stay at a friend's cabin. Archery, swimming, all kinds of fun with good people.
and even a little work was done while there
Then it was back for birthday celebrations. Three of the four of us have summer birthdays. The first birthday, 11 year old was celebrated with a Rush concert and some go-carting with friends. The second, the 39 year old was spent in the hot springs of Yellowstone, and the 3rd, the 7 year old was bowling with friends and Cirque Du Soleil with family.
Working backwards, the June highlight was Siofra's first play. She was an orphan in 'Anne'

I don't photograph a lot of weddings and the ones I do tend to be of the more intimate mellow kind. Carla had been my yoga teacher 7 years ago while I was pregnant with my daughter. Our paths have crossed from time to time since and last fall as she was planning her wedding she asked if I would be the 'documentary photographer' on the day. They already had a photographer that came with their package but she wanted to make sure the extra moments and relationships (and laughs) were captured. Of course I said yes. It was a long fun day, here is a little taste of the story.
